Indication-Seeking Program

Ore Pharmaceuticals extracts the hidden economic value of drugs that would otherwise be sitting on the shelf. We partner with some of the biggest names in the business, including Pfizer, Roche, Organon, Eli Lilly, Abbott, H. Lundbeck, Merck Serono and Solvay to seek new indications for stalled or failed compounds.

So far, we have initiated evaluation of more than 100 compounds provided by our pharmaceutical partners. And we have found alternative indications for approximately one third of the compounds for which the full evaluations have been completed.

Evaluated by multiple technologies against more than 400 diseases
At Ore Pharmaceuticals, we believe no single technology is adequate to assess the effect of a compound across complex biological processes. That’s why our Indication-Seeking Program integrates technologies acquired from Millennium Pharmaceuticals in 2004 with genomic capabilities developed by our former Gene Logic’s Genomics Division.

Our expert team of pharmaceutical scientists and technology specialists uses a proprietary integrative multi-technology platform to systematically evaluate compounds against more than 400 diseases. We use In Vivo Imaging, Multiplex Bioanalytics, Molecular & Cellular Pharmacology, and In Silico Biology assessments of a compound to develop and cross-confirm hypotheses about which diseases it may be used for.  To date, a number of interesting new indications have been found:

A more strongly validated compound
Our multi-pronged approach lets us work quickly and efficiently. But most importantly, our Indication-Seeking Program results in repositioned drugs that are analyzed in-depth—providing a solid scientific rationale for returning compounds to clinical development.
