Data Interpretation & ValidationWhen a new compound enters the Indication-Seeking Program, a multi-disciplined team is assembled to discuss the compound and monitor its progress through the program. A "hit" in a single technology area is not sufficient for us to believe a hypothesis. However, when our hypothesis is supported by the data from multiple, diverse technologies, a comprehensive picture emerges that demonstrates to us and our partners that a possible new drug indication is worth further examination. Our experience shows that a significant subset of drug candidates processed through our Indication-Seeking Program will generate data sets, that when integrated, produce actionable results. Once identified, an alternative disease indication may be validated using a gold-standard model system. Following successful validation, our partners may elect to return the drug candidates to their clinical development pipeline. If our partner chooses not to return the compound to clinical development, we may decide to acquire the compound for our own development. |
